dark maneuvres is a track which lives up to its name, the original expressing pumping, dark and crunchy sounds interspersed with string arrangements and overdubs which move the track in various different directions. the 1996 original is a great example of some production techniques of the time and is of interest in identifying the direction of the techno sound in that era, as well as being eminently listenable. slam were very much involved in the progression of techno at the same time as envoy was creating tracks such as dark manoeuvres and as such they have a real handle on how things have evolved, enabling them to bring a classic release such as this bang up to date. the distinctive hook, attention-grabbing melody and strings which are distinctive elements of the original are all incorporated in a full and fresh dynamic which sees some of these elements regrouped in individual sections such as the strings or moulded with deeper, darker resonance into a new expression.

the flames still burn white hot on friedas musics first record. this seems to be no reason not to throw more explosives on top. with the elephant carousel ep the second label maker don ramon inspires a dance carousel that makes even the most peaceful pachyderms on friedas soil rotate. all four tracks are infectious to body and soul. each for itself an original. all four tracks extensively tested on the party crowd by aunt friedas nephew. rather in a club night or at a funny after hour- hands were in the air and the corner of the mouths were rising high. a very special delight for the friends of the upper class reduction surely is the argenis britos remix of the track wild goats. all in all definitely an ep that streches the trunk in the sky!

perseus traxx is no stranger to the legion of underground warriors who place quality above quantity, having released on bunker, m/o/s, photic fields, boe recordings, boomchik, chiwax, sequencias, and future flash to name a few, as well as being one half of nite vision with the man behind mantra/myriadd.the muses are the nine goddesses who promote literature, science and the arts, the personifications of inspiration. though only named and assigned characteristics as recently as the roman era, they were revered by the ancient greeks, who documented that them as having been recruited by the egyptian god osiris as he passed through ethiopia prior to embarking on a tour of asia and europe to teach the arts of cultivation to mankind. itís with this in mind that perseus traxx, makes his first release on newcastleís flight recorder label, delivering an ode to four of them directly rather than the forms they have inhabited while they visit him. bubbling and cutting, heavy synths and dusty tones are jammed out live to tape, ranging from the playful to the stark as they characterise the appropriately named tracks. an ordered tangle of wires and patching in a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.

gravetemple was formed in 2006 as a side-project of the band sunn o))) by oren ambarchi, stephen o malley and attila csihar. the group formed initially to tour in israel summer 06, creating several recordings which eventually became the holy down album, which was released on southern lord recordings in 2007. at the time of the israel tour, the lebanon war started and was in action. in summer 08 the trio reformed together with the addition of australian drummer matt skitz sanders for a short european tour culminating at a headlining performance at supersonic festival in birmingham. in late 2009 the original trio reconvened for a special one-off concert at londons institute of contemporary arts. april 2013 marks the first set of live action since that period, and a new chapter in the ongoing system of the related network.

this ep marks a newbeginning in my career. since some time now, >the fog burns off< and we get more and more stable in the buisness. last year we were on the road quite a bit and we found many new friends. people from other cities, who believe in the same things, who do similar stuff and who are of the same kidney as we are. so that makes me very happy, which reflects in the music. for the first time i feel like coming home, although we are at the beginning of our journey into the industry yet.

after his debut 12inch on werkdiscs comes moires new 3 track 12inch on rush hour. in february, ears were picked by the debut release from moire, a mysterious producer hiding behind hypnotic visuals and a well-groomed cloak of anonymity. now hes ready to show his hand further with this second release, a three-track ep of what he proudly calls london techno.

out of the blue follows the recent success of the self titled vester koza ep, which gained support from djs such as ben ufo, even tuell, lowtec, giles smith, efdemin, alland byallo, lee gamble, braiden, and madteo. his brand of deep house and techno was recently compared to both kassem mosse and levon vincent by juno, whilst resident advisor noted ìa confident artist employing a level of patience and discipline that rewards repeated listens. as with the first release, this sequel is made up from a batch of demo recordings that circualted late last year. the works were written and recorded by vester koza in east london and have been mastered by helmut erler at dubplates and mastering berlin.

hmcs most recent offering of techno and house music, city rhythm, (juice 002) is a sound typical of his influence on dance music culture in his hometown of adelaide, australia. from pre-internet days when scenes throughout europe and the us were created on the back of techno and house music, a smaller but just as significant scene had developed in adelaide, celebrations were a weekly occurance on adelaide dance floors and dj hmc was responsible for the playlist.

20 years ago the track *unfuture*, release on sven väths imprint eye q, marked a milestone in techno productions with its uncompromising style and sound, delivering a view on techno which was revolutionary at that time: stripped down to only a couple of sounds in general, the track had an impact on dancefloors as not often seen before in those trance-dominated times - and still has! alex grabbed the vinyl out of his vinyl-collection after years, did an edit for his own, sent it to pascal feos who produced the original back then and who really liked this edit and the idea in general, and so alex decided to start a remixproject on this pure classic track with young, but also established artists who were not afraid of taking the adventure to remix a track that actually consists of nothing more than a distorted kickdrum, a really monotone off-beat organ sound and an oldschool acidline. here we are with the first part of the repaints of this alltime-classic, coming from uk techno-heavywight and legend mark broom with two interpretation as well as berlins uprising and promising vault-series mastermind subjected. true and high class recycling again on credo to save our planet from bad music

the recordings for the wires cracked were completed in a frenzied two week period in october of 2012. i had mentioned in discussing a previous albums construction that i prefer to forget how i build any particular electro-acoustic amalgam. this is so that i dont get to precious with them, so that i could refine them further, so that the sounds themselves speak beyond their aggregate parts. with the album being relatively fresh in my mind, i can still recall various components to the wires cracked -- the desolate howl of a metal screen activated by a desert wind, the hissing air compression from the cooling apparatus for a laser at the slac national accelerator laboratory operated by stanford university, and the tremolo rhythms from a thin wire that still get me thinking fondly of günter schickert -- but much of the caustic drone, thrumming reverberation, and tactile grit thoroughly escapes me. that is probably for the best, since these various parts speak to an existential rupturing, the collapse of the self, the aftershocks of dark energy, and a belief in the hope for renewal. the black madonna returns to home taping with another classic release in the making! we still believe captures that early sound of chicago when you could still hear the euro and italo influences as they were re-interpreted through the beat boxes & synthesisers of the windy city, and made to jack. on the flip, home taping favourite the revenge delivers his own take on that classic sound with an understated and yet pumping rework. packed full of authentic beatbox sounds and warehouse style keys, it works it to the boom boom. last but not least, the black madonna finishes off the package with say my name - a dirty, menacing and incessant groove that makes out like a wild new street dance that just got turned loose. the black madonna is here to stay!

amongst the mortals with its syncopated rhythm and eerie background sounds takes you on a slow walk among the mortals for sure and is nothing for the faint hearted. daughters of the everfire is yet another sinister track from valanx and with its hard bass sound beating the rhythm it takes you on a trip to the dark side. daughters of the everfire (yves de mey remix) is a strong rhythmic track were yves has pulled out all his skills of the hat to rearrange valanx original version.

adam jay’s “mediastinum ep” is the product of a near death experience turned into an opportunity to create. after experiencing acute trauma to the left lung, the artist was diagnosed with pneumomediastinum, the sounds featured in the production of this record were recorded in the intensive care unit at community east hospital in indianapolis. “inward” is a raw, stripped down stomper filled with anxiety and a pace of purpose. the a2 track, “terrible precision” brings an atmosphere of tension and darkness that drives the ep forward. the synth groove of “chatter” sits atop the recordings of medical monitoring equipment intended to alarm the listener. the unsettling dischord created is contrasted by a powerful low end groove. “concert of the machines” comes with an addictive half time broken beat groove. the warm, effected electric piano work plays off more alert sounds from the hospital room creating a chilled out vibe that is ideal for closing a set. already support from justin berkovi, nigel richards, gayle san, tony rohr, andrei morant, and brian kage.

albinos has now been meaning to open communication channels with the baka pigmy tribe for quite some time, sadly to mixed results… this indeed represents a rather difficult task considering their take on the devil is a tall white man graced with white hair and red eyes! even though the baka people is a peaceful one, the legend goes that if they were to catch that albino devil, they would gut its organs out and turn those into an aphrodisiac concoction. strangely enough, albinos believes that his music just might be the best language to turn those antagonistic feelings into a communion, he even dreams of performing his tunes to the whole tribe, deep within the jungle, surrounded with exotic birds and the most hungry kind of predators! somewhat at times on the verge of irony, his music definitively trades with sketchy, raw and deep emotions, always sincere in the making: always a few steps away from the pre-shaped house and techno idioms, he offers his very own take on dance music, a most peculiar one. solely using old cheap hardware and an antique atari, the tracks at hand are one-take live performances, brutal incarnations of albinos simple virgin vision. as the quest for the baka people goes on, the antinote team is proud to help shed light on the journey of this obscure producer hailing from the grand north.
